Who We Are
Alberta Recoil Inc. provides non-clinical peer support services and is a fully insured and registered organization. Our team – John Senior, Heather Vanderveer, and Laryssa Yankchak – are trained peer support facilitators with experience in both Canada and international settings. We are all trauma informed coaches.
What We Do
Our programs, lectures, and support groups follow our in-house standardized service model, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in our approach. Our primary mission is to offer highly specialized support to uniformed personnel and their families, with some programs overseen by clinical professionals. We specialize in supporting Service Sexual Trauma (SST), including Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and offer a range of services, including:
✔ Peer Support Groups – General, Specialized, LBGTQIA2S+ spousal and faith-based (one on one)
✔ One-on-One Peer Support
✔ Traditional Indigenous Sweats & Healing Circle
✔ Couples Peer Support (complementing couples counseling)
✔ Uniformed Sexual Trauma Workshops (for survivors)
✔ Uniformed Care Provider Course – for professionals supporting uniformed personnel, for bullying, harassment and sexual trauma etc.
✔ One on One Christian/Spiritual Care Support
